This course is suitable for students interested in becoming Early Childhood Educator Assistants, childcare assistants, early learning support workers, or individuals seeking foundational knowledge in health, safety, and nutrition for young children.
In British Columbia, one requirement to work as an Early Childhood Educator Assistant in a licensed childcare facility is certification by the ECE Registry. Certification as an ECEA requires successful completion of coursework from a program recognized by the ECE Registry or successful completion of coursework that is deemed equivalent by the ECE Registry.
Kosmetae Academy does not currently have an Early Childhood Education program that is recognized by the ECE Registry. This means that students who complete this course must apply for certification through the ECE Registry's equivalency process, if they wish to use the course toward ECEA certification. Students are responsible for reviewing current ECE Registry requirements and application procedures.

Foundational training in health, safety, nutrition, and professional practice in early learning environments.
This course is delivered in an online asynchronous format, allowing students to engage with course materials, readings, case studies, and assignments on their own schedule.
Students participate in guided readings, case-based learning, workplace safety scenarios, emergency preparedness activities, nutrition planning, documentation exercises, and reflective assignments to build practical knowledge and professional skills.

Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a Certificate of Completion in Health, Safety and Nutrition from Kosmetae Academy.
Students may use their completed coursework as part of an application to the ECE Registry through the equivalency process. Successful certification is determined by the ECE Registry and is subject to current provincial requirements, document review, and regulatory approval.
Kosmetae Academy provides training and documentation to support students' application pathway; however, the ECE Registry is responsible for reviewing applications and issuing ECEA certification.
